I Tried Vova so You Don’t Have To

For those of you that don’t know, Vova is similar to Ali Express or DH Gate in the sense that you buy directly from the e-commerce wholesaler based in Hong Kong, but you don’t have to buy in bulk even though they state that they’re wholesale. Most of what I have bought on Vova are designer inspired items, but they have a whole variety of stuff...think about it as a more reliable Wish.com! Plus, the shipping is always free (Unless you choose express shipping, which is then usually about £1.40 per item)

While Vova is fairly simple to navigate, there are a few tips and tricks I’ll be sharing to make sure you get the best price!

My first tip would be to try a variety of similar searches. For example, if you wanted to find this Christian Dior style bag, try along these lines:

Christian Dior Bag

CD Tote

Designer Canvas Bag

You will probably find that there will be hundreds of the same photo as you’re scrolling through listings, this is because every listing on Vova is a different seller. Once you find one you like, click onto the listing and scroll down to “recommended”. You can usually find a cheaper one down here.

I think my favourite part of Vova is scrolling through the jewellery. I love them because they’re still great quality; either 925 marked silver or stainless steel, so they don’t tarnish or turn your skin green! As someone with sensitive skin, this is a blessing!

My favourite jewellery find so far HAS to be Cartier. I now have the ring, huggie earrings, and bracelet- which came in a Cartier style box and bag with the little screwdriver to get it undone and everything.

I bought the bracelet for £11, the earrings for £3.60, and the ring for £2.74!

I am yet to dabble into clothes but I am very tempted by the Dior style trainers, or the Dior X Jordan ones. I do have some tights on the way but that hardly counts as clothes!

What about shipping?

I did mention before that shipping was free unless you choose express delivery, which I don’t recommend as it’s international, so still going to take a couple weeks! May as well save the money and wait a week or two longer.

I have never waited more than 2 months for something to arrive, some take just over a week, and some take around a month, but their shipping updates are so good, you can see every step of your item, and once it hits the UK it is tracked by Royal Mail.

They also give you an estimated arrival date- “No later than March 08” was on my first order, and everything did genuinely come before then. If it doesn’t for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund. I tested out their customer service/ refund policy, and they are very quick to act.

My Dior tote bag had a tiny mark on, which looked like the remaining adhesive from a sticker, and within 3 days I had the full amount back into my PayPal and I got to keep the bag. Result!

So to take away:

> Prices are cheap because they are wholesale prices. When people charge you £40 for a Cartier inspired ring, they likely bought it here for £3. It isn’t abusive to Asian workers, in fact, you pay them directly so it actually supports them.

> Customer service is great! Not every item can be 100% amazing, but this gives me confidence that it’ll be resolved if I do get a poor or broken item.

> Always pay through Paypal. Just double protection!

> Jewellery is the best bet for your first dabble into Vova!

> Always search for better prices once you find something you like.

Please let me know if you do buy anything, and we can be boujee together! I’ve since got my mum, my boyfriend, and a work colleague on board, and I’ve had people ask how I can afford it all (this can be our secret)

Tag me in anything you get over on Instagram too, I want to see your finds....and then probably buy them myself because it’ll look so good!

Love always,
